Amr Diab signs his contract with Rotana
Finally, after a long period of tension, the happy ending came with Amr Diab’s announcement that he would renew his contract with Rotana, for the distribution of his new albums. Diab refused to disclose the details of the new contract, however, some assume that it goes beyond 10 million $, in return for producing five new albums for Diab.
In the press conference, Diab asserted that he preferred to stay with Rotana for its stature, and because they make all his wishes come true. He also said that his new album would be issued next December, and that two of its featured songs will be video clipped, with Rotana’s production.
Diab asserted that he is on good terms with a number of young singers, whom he respects and wishes success because they do present good works. Diab also announced that he would definitely be boycotting Jordan Festival this year, if the allegations of its normalization with Israel were proven to be true.
Diab stressed the point that he refuses any and all kinds of normalization with Israel, which was the cause of his compulsive immigration from Port Said, his hometown, along with million of others.
On his side, Salem Al-Hindy said: “The new contract stopped all the rumors. The company was really keen on keeping a prominent artist like Amr Diab. We, at Rotana, are currently waiting for Diab to give us an idea for a new movie, so that we’d start working on it.”
